Fortis Energy has signed an agreement with Pomega Enerji Depolama Teknolojileri for the installation of a 62 MW / 104 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at the Oslomej 80 MWp Solar Power Plant. The deal is valued at approximately $19.65 million.

Energy storage systems play a critical role in enhancing the reliability of renewable energy by ensuring grid stability, supporting power supply during peak demand, and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Additionally, these systems help balance the energy market, contributing to a more sustainable and efficient energy ecosystem.

Fortis Energy’s Oslomej 80 MW Solar Power Plant has become a model for green energy transformation in the region by converting an abandoned coal mine site into a clean and renewable energy source. With a total installed capacity of 79,882 kWp, the plant contributes significantly to sustainable energy by generating 120 million kWh of electricity annually.

The integration of battery energy storage system into Oslomej PV is expected to be completed and commissioned in the second half of 2025.
