Fortis Energy has acquired a biogas power plant with a capacity of 3.12 MWe located in the Güney district of Denizli in Türkiye. The plant, which will be operational following maintenance and testing, has an annual electricity production potential of 29 million kWh.
Biogas obtained through the fermentation of organic waste is converted into electricity in the plant’s generator section. The energy produced will meet the needs of approximately 12,000 households in the region. This process not only prevents the release of methane gas from waste into the atmosphere but also reduces 21 million kilograms of carbon emissions caused by fossil fuels.
