Fortis has won the tender from The State Railways of the Republic of Türkiye to install 10,637 kWp rooftop solar power plants on Istanbul's Marmaray commuter rail station buildings.

Fortis Energy will install rooftop PV systems on Istanbul's Marmaray rail stations. Fortis has won the tender from The State Railways of the Republic of Türkiye to install 10,637 kWp rooftop solar power plants on Istanbul's Marmaray commuter rail station buildings.

The project will see the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems with a total capacity of 10,637 kWp at 26 station buildings. The power plants are expected to generate over 13 million kWh of renewable energy annually, supporting Turkey's clean energy goals. Generated energy will primarily meet the electricity needs at the stations. The energy required for operations and security will be produced at energy plants installed on the roofs of the stations. Completion of the project is scheduled for Q4 2025.

This is a major step toward sustainable urban transport and green future for Türkiye.
