Fortis Energy obtained preliminary permits for three wind projects with capacity of 509,4 MW in Serbia. EMS (Elektromreža Srbija) has given formal statement on electricity grid connection for Fortis' 171 MW Vranje Wind Park and 194,4 MW Gornjak Wind Park projects. Also, the preliminary license process is ongoing for the 144 MW Juhor Wind Park project.
With the capacity of 509,4 MW, the wind power plants will generate 1.5 billion kWh renewable energy equivalent to the annual consumption of 750,000 households and prevent the emission of 350,000 tonnes of CO2 annually. Wind measurements for wind park sites and preliminary wind resource assessment are currently underway.
The projects involve an investment of €550 million. The projects support a comprehensive value chain across various sectors, including civil works, electrical engineering, logistics, maintenance, security, and telecommunications.
